Competition Team is open to most students in the Studio. It is for the student who wishes to make Dance their primary extra-curricular activity. Our competition team consistently wins Titles, Top Awards, Judges Awards and cash awards at competitions througout New England. We are very proud of their accomplishments.

New students must complete 1 year of dance at GDA to be eligible for Competition Team. If you currently dance competitively at another dance studio and are considering GDA, please contact the office and schedule a meeting with Miss Melissa or Miss Jamie to discuss your options.
Competition tuition is the same as non-comp tuition.
Competition dancers are REQUIRED to take a ballet technique class and a 30 minutes ballet dance class for a minimum of 90 minutes of ballet per week. The ballet class does not compete.
To help with the financial commitment of being on a Competition Team, we do not charge a team fee and there is no fee for extra rehearsals to clean the dances prior to competition.
Competition Students are responsible for all registration fees, costumes, tights, and shoes required for each competing dance. Costs are announced prior to the start of the dance year and must be paid by November 7th. You will always know how much your competitive season will cost before the start of dance.
Once accepted onto Competition Team, dancers must complete
a predetermined number of hours of dance at GDA each summer
in order to keep their spot.
Elite Competition Team
The Elite Competition
Team goes on to perform in places like Walt Disney World and is announced
approximately every 5 years. Only those students who are
current Competition Team members will be considered for this
prestigious group. We have given over 100 dancers the
opportunity to dance in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney
World.In 2011, dancers performed on Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas cruise ship while enroute to Bermuda.
Other Dance Opportunities
We have an open invitation to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with one of the large production organizations. Currently, we are the only dance school in Central Massachusetts that has been invited to perform with this organization. We also have performed at the Worcester Tornados, Hershey Park and on Royal Caribbean International's Explorer of the Seas while cruising to Bermuda.
Master Classes
Throughout the year we will bring in Master Teachers from all over New England. Master Teachers bring cutting edge choreography, techniques and skills. A Master Class schedule will go out early in the year. This is optional but very recommended for students to progress to their very best. Master Class fees vary based on the teacher.
