Coronavirus Update 3/16/2020

[fblike]Dear Families,
Thank you for your patience as we continue to monitor the situation regarding the Coronavirus. As you know, the governor has closed schools and restricted gatherings of 25 or more. As such, we will be extending our temporary closure until it is safe to open for our dancers, families and staff.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Makeups – We are planning to extend our schedule to provide many makeup times for dancers to come and dance. We will be open during April Vacation and we are planning to hold weekend classes. In the mean time, we are gathering materials to send out to help keep your dancer moving and practicing.

Online Classes- We have links to free online dance classes on our Facebook page. We do not consider these a replacement for your child’s dance class that you have paid for, but it will keep them moving and active during this extended time home.

Tuition – We have suspended all automatic billing for tuition and will not put April tuition on accounts until we reopen. We are a small business and this temporary shut down is going to be tough, but we are committed to paying our teachers, who rely on us, as long as we can. As such, if you haven’t paid your March tuition and can, the parent portal is still open.

Recital – We are moving forward with our recital as planned. If the ban on large group gatherings remains in place for an extended time, we are working on a contingency plan. The recital is still 3 months away so fingers crossed.

Recital Portraits – Mike Nyman is still on the schedule to take recital portraits in April. Sign Up Here.

Competitions – We received word yesterday that the next two competitions have been postponed. We do not have a date yet for either, but once we do we will communicate that with you.

Summer Dance & Theater – If you have dreams of warmer weather, think Summer Dance & Theater! We are extending our Early Bird Special 10% off until 3/31. With 10% off, it’s a great way to keep your child active and happy this summer!

This situation is evolving minute by minute and we are struggling to keep up. Our priority is the safety of our dancers, families and staff. As a small business that relys on face to face contact, this will be tough the longer it goes. So please continue to practice good hygiene and we can’t stress how important it is to practice social distancing and stay home as much as possible. Thank you for your patience and for your trust in us. The entire GDA staff and myself can’t begin to tell you how thankful we are for you! Please be safe and stay healthy!

Sincerely,

Miss Melissa & the GDA Staff
